Welcome to YSP. The title is a quote from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode where she talks about the ridiculousness of trying to sound authoritative while wearing sushi pjs.
I am a 31 year old mom, blogger, and med school hopeful. My husband and I live with our beautiful daughter, Evi, and our fabulous dog, Savannah.
In May of 2007 I graduated with honors and a BS (yep, sure is!) in Art History and Classical Studies.
In June I found out I was pregnant with our first child.
In October, at nineteen weeks, we bid goodbye to our sweet Aodin. Since then, life has been about just getting through a lot of them time. Every day gets a little brighter. See Aodin’s memorial site here.
In May of 2009, after an eventful pregnancy, we welcomed our daughter Evi into the world. Raising her is the most important thing we’ve ever done and every day is an adventure.
Now I am concentrating on getting into medical school!

Hi, I’m Doctor Girl! At 30, as a work-at-home mom raising a toddler, I looked around at my life and realized my art history degree and years of plugging away at freelance writing were getting me nowhere fast.
I started to think about what I really wanted out of life, which was to live well and be able to give my family amazing experiences. I didn’t want to worry about money, always be too far from family, or not know how the bills would get paid. I was tired of slugging away at a job that paid too little and asked too much, and I was ready to make a change.
So, in September of 2010 I started doing research and printing out information… and I decided I’d finally make use of my academic talent and interest in ob/gyn and go to medical school! I know it’s insane… but if it all works out I’ll end up with a rewarding, fulfilling job that I can be proud of and a paycheck that will pay our bills without constant worry and struggle.
I think the name is AWESOME! I got it as soon as I saw the page!
Hahaha! You know I was just watching the show and really liked her pajamas. So I logged on and typed in the words yummy sushi pajamas to see if there were any sites actually selling them. Crazy, huh? I’m a dork, I know!
Oh, I totally got the name the minute I read it on your comment on my blog! (Or at least that’s what came to mind whether or not that’s what your intentions were..) I LOVE BUFFY!!

Love the name! I saw you linked from misszoot and as soon as I read your name I knew I had to check you out. There is a sushi place where I lived that is called Yummy Sushi and every time I drive by I think of that episode of Buffy.
