This morning was the first run of the long dreaded week 5. I was feeling pretty nervous about it.
And? DONE! I did it! It wasn’t easy, particularly since my hamstrings have been feeling super tight after a bunch of swiss ball bridges last week, but I did it. Overall, the run was tough. My legs felt heavy, I felt slow, and time seemed to pass way too slowly. The intervals were a five minute walk, 5min run, 3min walk, 5min run, 3min walk, 5min run, 4min cool down.
I’m still nervous about this week, since Thursday’s run bumps it up to two eight minute runs, but I know I can do it. Now this weekend’s twenty minute run? Not so sure about that one… but I’ll get out there and do it!
I also learned that I’m now at the point where I can’t get away with no water while running. I hate bringing it with me and frequently forget it even when I intend to bring it along, but I was SO thirsty today so I’ll make a point of bringing it with me from now on.
As for my hamstrings, they’re still feeling pretty tight and sore. I think I need to be better about stretching after my runs in particular, and might start doing yoga on my “rest” days to help stretch things out a bit. I think Evi would be more than willing to do yoga with me, so it would also serve as fun mommy/daughter time too.
