As always, I remain a work in progress.
I had a pretty good weekend in terms of movement, but my food was just… not good. I ate too much on Saturday, reigned it in after a great gym session, had a healthy breakfast Sunday, then consumed ridiculous calories for lunch on Sunday. I was so full all day that I didn’t eat dinner.
It’s not the calories or even the “unhealthy” food that’s bothering me. It’s that I had stomach cramps all night from the food. WHY? Nothing is worth a terrible night’s sleep just because of what I’m eating. My stomach issues remain unresolved, and I’m quickly learning that heavy/fatty/greasy/fried foods greatly exacerbate the situation.
So starting today I’m trying to do a cleanse of sorts. Nothing big, just zero tolerance for the offending foods. No fried stuff, no fast food, no fatty stuff, and probably no alcohol. We’ll see what it does for my energy, tummy, etc…

Ugh. I hate that feeling. You’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll feel just by cutting back on fast food!
The worst part is that I only have fast food or restaurant food about one meal a week… Although now that I’m typing that out, it sounds like a lot.
That awful feeling is exactly what I’m trying to avoid with my cravings. I would definitely recommend eating cleaner to feel better. This Lighten Up retreat has been a great refresher for me about how good your body feels when you do eat clean. I can vouch for green (think raw spinach) smoothies in the AM to help your liver and kidneys clear out again. there’s a million recipes online if you have a good blender. and they’re tasty! Food is at least 80% of this fitness situation. And sometimes i really wish it wasn’t…
