LUNCH@ Whole FoodsToday I met a friend for lunch at Whole Foods and tried two new things that both turned out to be COMPLETELY AWESOME.

First though, that szechuan eggplant? Not my favorite. In fact, ew. Everything else was great though. And the new thing? Hot sauce marinated tempeh. It was absolutely incredible. So, SO good. Spicy, nutty, filling. I loved it, and I will definitely be eating more of it. The corn was awesome too, as was the goat cheese on top of the polenta, but the tempeh was easily the star of my lunch.

So what else was new? Along with my lunch, I had a Cherry Chia Synergy drink. YOU GUYS? Have you been holding out on me? This was awesome. It was sweet and delicious and fizzy, and the seeds were super good and not weird at all. I so thought they’d be weird. I felt like I was channeling MizFit with my chia-infused juice, which made me extra happy.

After my lunch I feel pleasantly full, and there were so many awesome flavors involved. It was expensive though. That box o’ food and a drink was like $13. Fortunately, it’s just a once-in-a-while splurge for me to go to WF for lunch. Of course now I want to look into getting tempeh to make at home. How do you cook it? Where do you even get it?

P.S.  Baha, forgot to write about the awkward part. I got hit on! Believe me, that’s weird for me. The guy was even handsome, and well dressed too. That will teach me to forget my wedding ring in my gym bag. It was hilarious though, because I had no idea it was even happening until the guy had been talking to me (about the chia juice) for like five minutes, then it hit me finally when he told me he couldn’t help coming over to talk to me because he thought I was so cute. So I had to stumble out a quick “I’m married” and make a run for it. Flattering though… so thanks, WF guy!
