In an attempt to detox from yesterday’s eating, I brought only produce to work today.
For breakfast I had a banana, 3/4c of blueberries, 15 sweet cherries, and the leftover watermelon chunks I found in the fridge. It made a pretty little rainbow in the bowl, and it was sweet and filling. It did leave me craving some protein though, since generally I have protein shakes or bars for breakfast or as morning snacks.
Lunch was a huge bowl of spinach with cucumber and baby carrots, which I then dressed up with a hard boiled egg, 1oz of pepperjack cheese, and some garlic hummus. The egg and cheese helped with the protein issue a bit, though didn’t go far toward making me feel satisfied. It tasted awesome though…
I’m having trouble feeling satisfied, and I REALLY want something sweet right now, but I feel much more awake and energetic today, so I think my eat-real-food plan worked well. Now if I can just get through the day without ravishing the mini Reeses cups on my desk, I’ll be alright.
I also got back to the gym this morning for the second week 2 run for C25k. Tuesday’s run, the first one for this week, was tough. I wasn’t expecting the extra 30sec of running to feel much different, but I was really struggling on Tuesday. I was worried that today’s run would be even worse, since I ate so heavily yesterday, but I actually thought it was better. It wasn’t easy like last week’s runs seemed to be, but I wasn’t dying or struggling too much.
If I’m being honest though, I’m still a little worried. I was hoping this week wouldn’t really feel much different from last week, and the fact that it’s definitely harder has me scared about moving forward. I’m trying really hard not to think ahead at all but to just power through each run as it comes… but that’s tough stuff. I’m still hanging in there though, for my own sake and for my running buddy…

yes
I TOO am a power through each run as it comes misfit….
