caloriesI’ve been paying so much attention to calories lately. If I’m honest, it’s a little tiring, but it’s worthwhile because it really is teaching me a lesson about what my body needs versus what I think it needs.

Over the weekend I had intentions of going a little bit crazy with food, to some degree as a reward for a job well done, and to some degree as a mental thing that made me feel like I was still getting “enough” calories for the week.

When it came to the actual weekend, I backed off of that agenda a bit. In the end, I didn’t want to eat my face off. I didn’t want to binge. I did want to enjoy my food, and I did exactly that. We ate out. I had fun. We walked a ton. I discovered that feeling like I had a fun, indulgent weekend doesn’t mean I have to eat until my stomach hurts.

I also discovered that the best way for me to eat is to have a smallish breakfast, a MASSIVE lunch, and a small dinner, with some small snacks in the middle. It makes me feel better, more satisfied, less hungry.

It’s weird how much I’m learning.
