Five more days

VacationIn five days, we’ll be on our way to Florida to spend a week with my parents!  I am SO looking forward to the vacation for so many reasons.

First of all, it’s going to be really nice to see my parents and my sister again.  We haven’t seen my sister since Christmas, and my parents were here in May for Evi’s birthday.  Secondly, being with family means Aaron and I will get the chance to go out, see a movie, and spend several hours being husband and wife again.  As much as we adore our little girl, it’s going to be nice to have some time to ourselves.

I’m also happy that Aaron is going to get a break from work.  He’s been working really hard lately, with a lot of late nights and stress.  He’s been handling a heavy workload, has an employee out for family reasons (so he’s doing both jobs right now), and thanks to the economy he hasn’t had a raise in three years.  He likes his job and they treat him pretty well, so we can’t complain too much, but he’s way overdue for a break.

We’re not making any official plans for the week, and I’ll still be blogging and working some, but we’re really excited to go and I don’t know if I’ll make it to the weekend!  This week I’m concentrating on cleaning out/eating our perishables, packing, and getting ahead on my workload so that I can relax!

What are YOU doing to celebrate the end of summer?

I don’t know what we’re going to do yet. Hoping it will involve a body of water and a cold beer. We’ll see.
